Well, yes of course. That's the whole point behind Gardner's Seven Intelligences, Accellerative Learning, multimedia, etc.
People take in information and process it in a variety of ways. Designers who take advantage of this present information in a wide variety of formats and provide a variety of activities to the learner.
Of course, some things are best taught in one way or another. You don't learn to play the accordion by just reading about it. (Right, Lloyd?) :)
