The point is that the research doesn't back up the great educational technology pathetic fallacy that the latest technological whiz-bang wonder medium (be it 25mm cinematography or interactive multimedia) will "improve learning." Fifty years of "research" (and I use the quotes to imply skepticism) has shown most conclusively that there is no significant difference between teaching a subject using one medium versus any other. The only discriminating factor is content.
