[quoting Oliver, 23 Jul 96] I am curious as to why you are doing that.
I am aiming to come up with a set of guidelines for people wanting to produce Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) materials to meet specific learning outcomes. I want to look at which categories of learning outcomes are likely to be achieved by which types of CAL resources.
I could use the usual categories of CAL resources (such as tutorials, drills, hypermedia discovery, etc.), but I'd like to go a bit deeper and look at the learner-computer interactions that these resources facilitate.
So what I'm really trying to do is to draw connections between types of learning outcome and types of learner-computer interactions. Before I can do this I need to come up with some way of classifying learner-computer interactions. This is the focus of my current task.
