[quoting Dalgarno, 25 Jul 96.a] So what I'm really trying to do is to draw connections between types of learning outcome and types of learner-computer interactions. Before I can do this I need to come up with some way of classifying learner-computer interactions. This is the focus of my current task.

That's interesting. Just thinking aloud, one of the problems of relating interaction type to learning outcome is that of level. There is unlikely to be a one-to-one correspondence between learning outcomes and interactions. Many good Computer Assisted Learning lessons will call on an armory of different interactions which together guide the student to the learning outcome. Perhaps we need to understand how to use interactions in combinations rather more than we do.
