Who are we to "take tools away" and "give" them to learners? Please clarify your vision of the "take away" and "give to" role. What kind of job is this, taking away and giving to? Can we make a living out of it? How is it different from the salesperson at Egghead Software? What are the implications for "traditional" education? Adults use word processors to help them perform their jobs. What is the performance of children? Who determines it--us, parents, society? Doesn't that bring us back to instructional design?
