I'd have to agree with Maureen's [Simmons, 18 Sep 95] assessment of the situation: when words are available for cutting and pasting electronically, there is always the chance--the opportunity--for our comments to not only be taken out of context, but to be placed out of context as well.
I would think most honorable people would adhere to a list standard, but just in case, log your original e-mailed notes as proof of authorship/context. These are automatically dated and "clocked."
