I found the discussion generated by the quick and dirty survey posted to AERA listservs very interesting. I agree that some of the feedback may be of value to the person posting the survey. It also may be of value to others new to research. I am repeatedly curious about why some few postings on listservs seem to generate lots of anger. All I do is push the delete key if I don't care about or want to read a posting. It's interesting that inappropriate postings generate more responses and discussion that most appropriate postings. In that way, they make a listserv more interesting actually.
