I found the article interesting, although having not been exposed to SD before, it was fairly challenging reading.

Steve Alessi [12 Oct 95] says that it is very difficult to teach SD, and I can see why. However, it appears to me that if an environment was provided on a computer where a particular model could be specified in a graphical way, then the concepts would be easier to grasp, and the focus would be on the model itself rather than how to specify it using SD.

Is there software around that provides this sort of environment?

Michael and Paal talk about >PowerSim and. I'd like to know more about these and other similar programs. (As well as what functionality they provide, I'd like to know what platforms they run on, and how I would go about getting a copy).

I think that looking at examples of SD models used in a variety of subject areas would help me to see how I could use it. Can anyone point me to a good source?
