Thanks for visiting my web page. (Frankly, I'm surprised you're here -- you must either be taking a course from me or are pretty bored at the moment!) I am a Professor of Instructional Technology at the University of Georgia. I came to UGA in the Fall of 1993 after having spent 6 years at Texas A&M University. My degrees are from Penn State, The University of New Mexico, and the University of Pittsburgh (and I even visited MIT once -- quite a thrill, I think I bought a hat). My hometown is Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (gee, I wonder how many other graduates from South High's class of 1976 are on the world wide web).

I'm an Instructional Technologist. My professional interests deal mainly with visualization and interactivity in computer-based learning environments. I have done lots of research and development related to computer animation, microworlds, simulations, and games. One word probably describes my philosophy of learning, instructional design, and teaching -- play!

Teaching

OK, I can think of at least 3 reasons why you might look here: 1) you are currently taking a class with me; 2) you are thinking of taking a class with me; 3) you want to know about the kinds of things that go on in IT courses at UGA. All are very good reasons.

Here are the classes I am teaching at UGA in the Spring, 2002:
